Sasek, Miroslav – California Line

Watercolour with pen and ink, originally for ‘This is San Francisco’ (1962). This is a companion print to ‘The Powell Line’ (see Sasek – Prints). You can still ride the cable cars in San Francisco – they are the world’s last manually operated. First established between 1873-1890 with twenty three lines, there are now only three remaining: two on Powell Street and the famous California Street line. This is quintessential San Franciscan retro-charm.

Format: Giclée print, Limited Edition (1/850) on 310gms thick, 100% cotton rag. Hand-numbered and hand-embossed. Mount included

Size: 12.5 x 25.0; paper: 29.6 x 25.8; mount: 34.0 x 42.5cm
