Holloway, John – Alton Barns White Horse

The Alton Barns White Horse stems from 1812, one of several carved into the chalk hills of Wiltshire. With the Horse’s eye reminiscent of bead work, this has all the qualities of a piece of naive folk tapestry – the patch of ground around the Horse even seems like a piece of material pinned by the fence posts onto a larger piece.

Format: Format: Giclée photographic print; open edition on finest museum-grade acid-free 100% cotton bayta coated rag. Hand-embossed.

Size: Image size 35.4 x 51.0cm; incl. border: 41.0 x 55.8cm
