Andrews, Sybil - Windmill (Click to enlarge)
Description
Linocut (1933). Printed from three blocks in Chinese Orange; Permanent Blue and Chinese Blue. Original size: 32.2 x 22.1cm. This delightful print was inspired by Elmers Mill, an old post windmill at the village of Woolpit, near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Post windmills are so named because the main body or structure of the mill is attached, or balanced, on an upright post. By mounting the body (‘buck’) in this way, it can rotate to catch the variable direction of the winds.
Size: 36.2 x 26.1; paper: 59.5 x 42.00cm
Format: Giclée Print, Limited Edition (1/850) on 310gsm thick, 100% cotton rag. Hand-numbered and hand-embossed.
