Andrews, Sybil - Mangolds (Click to enlarge)
Description
Linocut (1956). Printed in four blocks in Yellow; Spectrum Red; Crimson and Viridian. Original size: 32.4 x 37.2cm. This print (slightly larger than the others) was created some ten years after Andrews emigrated to Campbell River, Vancouver Island. But memories of Suffolk are clearly still strong for her at this point, since collecting mangolds from the side of a hill is a very English farming activity, and one that she would have seen many times in her childhood.
