Edward Bawden - Peacock and Magpie

Edward Bawden - Peacock and Magpie

Description:

Colour linocut (1970). In the 1970's Bawden made a series of prints based on Aesop's Fables. The Peacock has suggested to the others that he is made king, but the Magpie wonders whether, if this is agreed, the Peacock could really protect them against the eagles. The moral? Never ignore the advice of others.
