Description

Wood Engraving (1933). Original size 20.2 x 26.8cm. Since August of the previous year (see August: Harvesting) the sheaves of wheat will have lain still in the grain stack. At threshing time the binding of each sheaf is cut and fed into one end of the thresher. The thresher then disgorges the straw onto the elevator and this is collected to form the straw stack.
