Clare Leighton - July: To the Milking

Clare Leighton - July: To the Milking

Description:

Wood Engraving (1933). Original size 20.3 x 25.4cm. Leighton approved the title 'To the Milking' for this print, but it is sometimes known, somewhat incongruously since none are depicted, as 'Cottage Gardens'. This is a particularly delightful print. It is July in the farmer's year. The fierce heat of day has dissipated, and as the cows wend their languorous way to a milking parlour the viewer's eye is subtly drawn to the same central point within the picture.

Size: 22.3 x 28.00cm; paper 40.0 x 46.0cm

Format: Giclée print; limited edition (1/850) on 310gsm thick, 100% cotton rag.

Price: £80.00
